how to make IPK plugin package with OPKG-TOOLS ?

$

Hello,

I can not find instructions on how to create an IPK package with opkg-tools. Does anyone know about the opkg-tools? Or at least examples for using opkg-tools? I do not want to study the opkg-tools source code or Bash scripts for a whole day.

I can create IPK manually (pack all necessary files). However, the problem is that the preinst and postinst bash scripts are malfunctioning in control.tar(.gz). However, the header of my IPK does not resemble standard IPK header lines.

Standard IPK packages begin with this code (hex editor view):

!<arch>
debian-binary/  1488921818  0     0     100644  4         `
2.0
data.tar.gz/    1488921818  0     0     100644  25440     `
‹

Unfortunately, my IPK package starts as follows:

‹     í›S&Ěłć›Óć´m۶mŰÖŰv÷´msÚ¶m{ÚÖ´mľűť±±çbĎŐžŐ˙w

Bash script to make IPK plugin package (archive):

#!/bin/sh
cd /tmp/Test
tar zcpv -f enigma2-plugin-test-1.0.ipk control.tar.gz data.tar.gz debian-binary

Thanks.

Playing a URL link on my OpenPLI device

This may be a silly question, but I have yet to find an answer.

While using my computer, I find a cool link in my email or using my browser. I copy the link.

How do I now open that link on my OpenPLI 6? I have an OpenWebif but there is no way to paste a link. I haven't found a plugin that will allow me to paste a link. The VLC DLNA stuff doesn't work. Do I need to SSH into my box and run some command line?

Thanks for any pointers!

is there a way to upload PNG images via startDecode, but including a transparent color parameter ("#?rrggbb") ?

Hello everyone.

Is there a way to upload PNG images via .startDecode method, but including a transparent color parameter ("#XXrrggbb") ? I can not do that. If I upload a PNG image directly in the XML skin variable, over pixmap="path", everything is OK and the transparency in the PNG image works. However, if I upload an image through the familiar enigma2 algorithm (rendering function while running the program), then transparent pixels are ignored. I also tried to change backgroundColor (in parameter settings via .setPara) in my function, but it was unsuccessful.

Thanks.

The referenced image rendering algorithm (from my Screen class):

def imgRender(self, path):
    self.imgfile = path
    if exists(self.imgfile):
        self.sc = AVSwitch().getFramebufferScale()
        self.img = ePicLoad()
        if self.img:
            self.img.setPara((  sizemaxH, sizemaxV, self.sc[0], self.sc[1], False, 1, '#FF000000'  )) # max-X, max-Y, scale-X, scale-Y, aspect_ratio=1.000000, cache=0, resize=1, bg=#FF000000
            if self.img.startDecode(self.imgfile, 0, 0, False) == 0:
                ptr = self.img.getData()
                if ptr is not None:
                    self["layer_pic"].instance.setPixmap(ptr)   # original entry:    .instance.setPixmap(ptr.__deref__())
                    self["layer_pic"].show()
            del self.img

IPK Creator 5.0

Version 5.0

- Windows, Linux, macOS binaries added (x86/x64)

- "Recommends" added

- "armv7ahf-neon" and "cortexa9hf-neon" architectures added

- no check for characters so you can create anything

- less required fields in red

- lots of fixes/improvements

- clean and rebuild using JDK 8u102/NetBeans 8.1

IPK Feed Generator 1.0

Version 1.0

You need to install JRE (Java Runtime Environment) !

Download it from http://www.filehippo.com/download_jre/ (Windows)

Recommended JRE version : 8.0 build 102

Place your IPK files here then run IPKFeedGenerator.jar

It will create Packages and Packages.gz for you

==================================================

As you know you can run a jar file in any operating system (Windows, Linux, macOS, ...) because it's Java

I did compile it with Java 8u102/NetBeans 8.1 so you need JRE 1.8.x

Enjoy creating IPK feeds

:)

External IR receiver to which will alow you to use others remote controls

Hello,

I am preparing very cheap external IR receiver connected via USB or RS232TTL which will alow you to use others remote controls (for example from others set-top-box).
I already prepared prototype hardware connected via USB and using it on H2H set-top-box.

I can use any remote using NEC protocols. Support for remotes using others protocol can be easy added if I have such one.
The core of this hardware extension is ATtiny2313 mikroprocesor.  To be able to connect it to STB via USB I used cheap PL2303HX and IR decoder TSOP4838.

Cost of all used hardware component is less than 4$. If your set-top-box have RS232 port or you can open your STB and locate RS232 TTL on the motherboard then then you can connect it directly.
So, PL2303HX will be not needed (made hardware cheaper) and it will not take USB port.

When I have some time I will provide schemes with pictures and instruction how/to. I think that this project can be useful for many users :)

Many, even good set-top-boxes, have not, so good remotes.  This can cause frustration, sometimes.
With this very cheap hardware extension this will be no more problem.

Are you interested with such hardware?

RTL2832U chipset support proposal

About one week ago I've bought a DVB-T USB stick based on Realtek RTL2832U chipset.
I've found some driver for Ubuntu but they are old and someone has patched them introducing some wrong typecast in C code so they compile only for x86 64bit arch.

"Restart from scratch !" : I've emailed Realtek and they kindly give me their latest RTL2832 Linux driver rel 2.2.2. This driver is for kernel 2.6.x and V4L

I've started porting the code to kernel 3.x.x and I've made some code cleanup and minor bug correction.
My little project is here https://github.com/a...od_kernel-3.0.0 and you also can find in my GitHub repo the original RTL2832U 2.2.2 driver (two versions: full with 10 tuners and simplified with 3 tuner)

Since yesterday evening driver compile fine without any warning in Ubuntu 11.10 32bit and 64bit and device works fine.

And this morning compile fine also with OpenPLi for CT9x00 (based on 27-11-2011 repo)

These are some USB sticks RTL2832U based:
DIKOM USB-DVBT HD [ID 1b80:d394] (my own)
NILOX DVB-T Stick N15 [ID 1b80:d393]
TRUST 16738 [ID 0bda:2832]
TERRATEC Cinergy T Stick BLACK [ID 0ccd:00a9]
TX Hollywood DVTB [ID 1d19:1101]
DIGIVOX mini II v3.0 [ID 1d19:1101]

The driver "full" support:
Chipset 2832, 2836, 2840
DVB-T, DVB-C, DTMB
Tuners: E4000, FC0012 (most used), FC0013, FC2580, MAX3543, MX2063, MX2266, MXL5007T, TDA18272, TUA9001
All in one package: patch (see below) is about 2.5 MB

I've tested DIKOM USB-DVBT HD (USB2.0, RTL2832, FC0012, DVB-T) in my CT9100 with my driver and compared with Avermedia A867 stick:

Channels found (using Manual Scan, Tuner C, Complete, n, n, n; "Europe DVB-T" freq. set)
DIKOM: 312 (VHF ok), the same more or less than Avermedia A835
A867: 393 (VHF ok)

Zap time:
DIKOM: about 3-4 sec.
A867: about 1.5-2 sec.

Uptime after 10 minutes watching the same DVB-T HD channel:
DIKOM: 0.47
A867: 1.20

Signal quality feedback in E2:
DIKOM: none (no SNR, no AGC, no BER). I hope to fix in future.
A867: AGC, BER (no SNR)

Device temperature:
DIKOM: medium
A867: medium

The driver looks stable.

I see lot of new in OpenEmbedded Yocto device support (Odroid c2, … ). (https://github.com/oe-alliance/oe-alliance-core )

In the past wetek launch wetek play 2 with S905 chip but wetek don’t continue the drivers support.

Now we have Zgemma with this Hi3798MV200 chipset.

So some question:

The Hi3798MV200 is it a S905 clone with low license cost ?  (https://androidpc.es/blog/2017/08/01/comparativa-hisilicon-hi3798mv200-vs-todos-los-soc-actuales/ )

Do you think the source code for hardware decode or encode could be give (HiVXE 2.0 )? in official or not official ?

The new Amlogic device have some source code for drivers , but if I understand ( libreelec forum ) it’s not complet.

So , do you think all the amlogic device could be work with enough support ?

In this case what the best choice of device in this case ( with more support …) ?

In the Odroid Exynos5422  Odroid have new Ubuntu 18.04 version with OpenGL ES 3.1 and OpenCL 1.2 drivers for Mali T628MP6 GPU AND FFMPEG with hardware accelerated H.264 decoder.

Do you think we can have, in the futur, this type of device (Exynos5422) in OpenEmbedded Yocto with a possible unsupported device openpli compil ?
